Guarding the northern entrance to the harbour within Sydney Harbour National Park, this rugged sandstone headland offers breathtaking views across the harbour to the city, out along the coastline and over the open ocean.

The appeal is that combination of wild clifftop scenery, sweeping panoramas and genuine history: the Fairfax walking tracks lead to stunning lookouts, while the former Quarantine Station and military fortifications add a fascinating heritage dimension. It's a wonderful spot for a walk, taking in the views, or — in season — watching for migrating whales offshore.
