Chatswood Park

Chatswood Park is a 2.6-hectare green space in Chatswood, Sydney, combining a park, playground and sportsground. Its facilities include an outdoor exercise station, skate park and a fenced playground with a basket swing, embankment slide, trampolines, swings and a climbing net with slide. Picnic tables and bench seating make it practical for families and casual visits, while an accessible bubbler and level, smooth pathways improve ease of access.

The sports oval has a long local sporting history. It has been the home ground of the Gordon District Cricket Club since 1900 and the Gordon Highlanders Rugby Club since 1936. The park also has connections to Chatswood’s earlier landscape: the land was once Chinese market gardens before Council began acquiring it in 1898. The skate park was added in 2001.

There are several access points from Albert Avenue, Orchard Road and Chapman Avenue, as well as a pathway under the railway line from the croquet greens. The park is about 250 metres from the Chatswood Bus/Rail Interchange. One accessible parking space and an accessible unisex toilet are provided. Street parking is in demand, with Chatswood shopping centre carparks a block away. Sportsgrounds may close during or after wet weather, so visitors should check conditions before heading out.
