Astro's Arcade Bar

Astro's Arcade Bar sits on King Street in Newtown, one of Sydney's most vibrant and eclectic inner-west strips. A fun arcade bar, it combines good drinks with retro arcade games and a playful, nostalgic atmosphere — the kind of lively, in-the-know spot that's become a genuine favourite for a fun, sociable night out.

The appeal is that combination of good drinks, classic arcade games and a buzzing, playful atmosphere in a great Newtown location, ideal for a fun night out, drinks with friends or settling in for some retro gaming. The blend of a bar and an arcade gives it a real point of difference, and the near-perfect feedback speaks to a place getting the fun-and-drinks formula just right.

A 4.9 rating from more than 180 reviews is an excellent result and a strong endorsement. Drinks lists, the games, opening hours and any events vary, and a popular arcade bar fills up on weekends, so it's worth checking current details before you go — though for a drink and some retro arcade fun, it's often just a matter of dropping in and seeing why it's so well loved on King Street.
