Why it's worth checking out
7th Day Brewery is an independent brewery and taproom in Brookvale, serving the Northern Beaches as a relaxed community venue for beer, food and local events. The brewery makes its own beers for the taproom as well as bars and bottleshops in the neighbourhood and further afield. You can drink on site or take a few beers home, with the brewery’s XPA, Mango Hazy IPA and Far-King Lager among the beers named on its website.
The venue occupies a converted warehouse, with the bar and brewing operation inside and a large outdoor beer garden for sunny afternoons. The space is set up for more than a quick drink: there’s a pool table, a jumbo screen for watching sport, room for children to play and a stage used for live music. Dogs and skateboards are welcome in the beer garden, giving the place an easygoing, local feel. Its programme also includes trivia, a run club, live bands, DJs and other community events, although the schedule changes over time.
Food comes from neighbouring Sale Pepe, whose offering includes freshly made pasta, Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizza and trattoria-style Italian cooking. The brewery’s website also highlights house-made pasta nights, lunch specials and pizza served alongside its beers. That combination makes 7th Day a practical option for a casual meal as well as a drink, whether you’re meeting friends, bringing the family or settling in for live music. The garden and games make it especially suited to groups, while the taproom provides a straightforward place to drop in for a beer and food.
Community involvement and sustainability are central to the brewery’s story. The team says the venue was established with community crowdfunding and continues to support local causes and independent businesses. Its fit-out incorporates recycled and upcycled materials, including timber, old kegs, retired skateboards and surfboards. The brewery also says its electricity is supplied through a carbon-neutral energy arrangement, while spent brewing grain is collected by a local farmer to feed cattle in Ingleside. These details give the Brookvale venue a sense of place beyond its beer list: it is designed as a neighbourhood brewery that puts its space, suppliers and by-products back into the local community.
