The Grifter Brewing Co.

The Grifter Brewing Co. sits on Enmore Road at Marrickville, in the heart of Sydney's inner-west craft-brewing scene near Newtown. A much-loved brewery, it's earned a strong reputation — combining quality craft beer brewed on site with a relaxed, characterful taproom atmosphere, the kind of welcoming, in-the-know spot that craft-beer lovers seek out in Marrickville's celebrated brewery district.

The appeal is that combination of genuinely good craft beer, a relaxed taproom setting and a great inner-west location, ideal for a tasting, a few beers with friends or a relaxed session. Marrickville is renowned for its breweries, and a quality producer with a welcoming taproom is a real draw, with the Grifter clearly winning over a devoted following.

With a 4.5 rating from more than 470 reviews, it's clearly hitting the mark. The beer range, any food or food trucks, tastings, opening hours and pricing vary, and a popular taproom gets busy over weekends, so it's worth checking current details before you go — though for quality craft beer in a relaxed setting, it's often just a matter of dropping in at the Grifter in Marrickville.
