The Body Spot
A 5-star spa and wellness venue at Bondi Beach in Sydney with a flawless record across 47 reviews.
Why it's worth checking out
The Body Spot is a massage and spa therapy venue at Bondi Icebergs, located at 1 Notts Avenue on the Bondi Beach cliffs. Its setting is a major part of the experience: treatments take place in three rooms operating poolside, with views and sounds of the ocean and the waves breaking along the rocks. It is a considered option for anyone wanting to combine a massage with time at the Icebergs pool, where the wider facilities also include a sauna, café and gym. Yoga and swimming classes are available at the venue as well.
The treatment list covers both relaxation and more targeted massage styles. The spa menu includes Hot Stone Massage, which uses heated volcanic stones to help soften muscles and ease tension, as well as a Revitalising Foot Spa with hot towels, peppermint scrub, massage and foot stretches. The Full Body Scrub uses organic coconut oils, cacao butter, organic sea salt and pumice powder to exfoliate and polish the skin. Massage options range from relaxation to sports, remedial and deep tissue work, with the website also listing aromatherapy, pregnancy massage, lymphatic drainage, Chinese massage and other therapies. Some health fund rebates are available, subject to checking with the therapist when booking.
The Body Spot was established at Bondi Icebergs in 1995 by Helen Love, beginning as a single-room practice before expanding to its current three-room poolside operation. The therapists bring different qualifications and approaches. Yaari has diplomas in remedial massage and aromatherapy, with more than 20 years of experience and pressure ranging from relaxation to firm remedial work. Bell is qualified in traditional Thai and remedial massage and offers treatments including sports, deep tissue, lymphatic drainage and pregnancy massage. Fon combines Thai and remedial techniques with trigger points, stretching and sports massage, adapting pressure for different clients. Helen is now based at Shoal Bay and specialises in manual lymphatic drainage, reflexology and facials at The Cottage Shoal Bay.
With its quiet poolside rooms and ocean backdrop, The Body Spot suits solo visitors looking for a restorative treatment, as well as people adding massage to a broader Bondi Icebergs visit. The range of pressure levels and treatment styles makes it relevant to both relaxation-focused clients and those seeking sports or remedial work. The venue states that it is open every day except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and online bookings can be paid on the day or in advance through PayPal.
