Why it's worth checking out
Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour is a city hotel in the heart of Darling Harbour, with 525 guest rooms and suites, easy public transport connections and several of Sydney’s major attractions close by. The Convention light rail station, ferry services and nearby bus stops are around 100 metres away, while Central and Town Hall stations are within a walk. The hotel is also close to the Australian National Maritime Museum, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, the Darling Harbour precinct and the Powerhouse Museum.
The hotel’s main dining venue, The Ternary, brings an Asian Kitchen, Grill Kitchen and Wine Bar together in one open, contemporary space. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide city skyline views, and the restaurant is open for dinner from Wednesday to Sunday, 6pm to 10pm, with bookings essential. The Ternary Bar offers a quieter place for cocktails, wine and conversation, while breakfast is served with local produce, barista-made coffee and views across Sydney. These options make the hotel convenient for guests who want to stay close to their room after a day in the city, as well as for a dinner or drinks stop in Darling Harbour.
Accommodation ranges from 28-square-metre Superior Rooms to larger executive rooms and loft suites. Several room categories include city skyline views, while the two-bedroom loft suite faces Darling Harbour and measures 78 square metres. The open lobby has a vibrant, modern design, and facilities include an outdoor pool, tennis court, children’s corner, fitness centre, Wi-Fi, on-site restaurant and meeting spaces. The gym is open 24 hours and includes cardio machines, free weights and strength equipment.
Families are well catered for through the children’s facilities, pool and rooms accommodating up to four guests. Couples and solo travellers can make use of the dining, bar and central location, while business groups have access to 13 meeting rooms, outdoor terraces and a largest room measuring 544 square metres. The hotel also hosts wedding receptions with city views. Guests should note that the Harbourside Centre redevelopment is underway and expected to continue until 2027; the hotel says noise and dust controls are in place, with construction scheduled on weekdays and Saturdays only. Secure undercover parking is available on site for $65 per 24-hour pass.
