Why it's worth checking out
Art On King sits on King Street in Newtown, one of Sydney's most vibrant, eclectic inner-west suburbs. A much-loved art gallery and shop, it's a lovely creative spot — showcasing and selling quality art in a welcoming, characterful setting, the kind of inspiring gallery that's right at home on Newtown's creative King Street strip and a genuine favourite among art lovers.
The appeal is that combination of quality, characterful art and the pleasure of browsing a welcoming gallery in a great Newtown location: a wonderful spot to admire and discover art, find a special piece or simply enjoy a creative browse while exploring the lively strip. A gallery with a genuine point of view really stands out, and Art On King has clearly won over a loyal following.
With a 4.7 rating from nearly 200 reviews, it's clearly a much-loved spot. The art on show, any exhibitions, opening hours and pricing vary, so it's worth checking current details before a special trip — particularly for a specific exhibition or artist — though for some lovely art and a creative browse, it's well worth a visit to Art On King in Newtown.
Spot Score
The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.7 from 198 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
